The life-cycle of a Monarch Butterfly

This is about the life cycle of a Monarch butterfly.  The life cycle starts as a tiny egg changes through different stages, turns inside out and becomes a butterfly.

The egg

The female butterfly attaches a tiny round  egg to a leaf on a swan plant. When the egg hatches and turns into a Caterpillar it will have lots to eat.. It has microscopic structures which look like ribs.

The Caterpillar

The Caterpillar or larva is a worm like interesting patterns. Like stripes and patches the Caterpillar has spike like hear

The chrysalis

The chrysalis is a black and orange and it has tissues that is its meat but the interesting part is that it turns into an adult.

Monarch butterfly

An Monarch butterfly has 2 black dots that let there Perfume so they can get mates and have babies so if they have babies they stick there eggs on leaves than does the same thing over and over as a life cycle

Caterpillars

We have been reading about Monarch caterpillars. In this story a boy and his koro watch as a two Monarch caterpillar eggs transform into butterflies. The author wrote this story... because caterpillars and Monarch butterflies are interesting because they are taonga that means precious. They also have a hard shell and you can tell which Monarch butterfly is a man cause they have 2 black dots with perfume in them. They also say how koro's son died so his moko lives with koro. That tells us a life cycle of a human.

Hi me and my friends were seeing how many stride jumps we could do in 30 seconds 1 minute and 2 minutes. Here it is

Judges bay

On the weekend I went to Judges bay. For a swim first thing we did is got changed and then we jumped into the water it was COLD! when we went back in it was warmer and we started to get use to it. Then we jumped off the wharf it was so cool when I jumped off I was going to do a flip but I just bombed in.



Then I  had a race with my cousin she beat me cause I was right behind because I let here go first but we had some chips for lunch then we went back in  for a little swim but when we went back it was SO COLD. But we had to jump in because we only had 5 minutes so we just jumped in so after 5 minutes we went back home

My Weekend

On the weekend I went to Parnell pool it was crowded. We had to get changed then we could go into the pool but there were some rules that I had to follow from my Nana and papa I had to stay in the little pool each 5 minutes because I had to look after my brother and sister.

After the first 5 minutes I got to go in the deep part of the pool for 20 minutes and then we got ice-cream but  we had two wait for a minute then we went back into the pools I started jumping off the diving board when I I was going back in because it was cold but I got used to it. then we left to go back home.

Eating Pikopiko

We have been reading about eating pikopiko. Pikopiko is a native fern that can be eaten.

Parnell pools

I have made a google drawing and a some writing to go with it hope you enjoy. Yesterday i went to parnell pools with my brother and sister and my nana and we got changed. Then we hopped into the water and i went into the deep one and it wasn’t as deep as i thought as would be so i started jumping off the edges. And when i jumped off i started to notice that the deep part was where i was standing then i started swimming and i jumped off again and again and i started to jump off into the ring to keep you safe then i had to go home.

Joshs Holiday highlight recount

On Sunday my family and I went to Okahu Bay for a touch tournament. Setting up the tent was easy. We had to wait for the judges to call our family name. Our name was TEAM HOTU. Finally it was our turn to play our game. We versed people that we knew. There were lots of people from Pt England School. We had heaps of subs as well. Sadly we lost lots of games but I was happy that we drew 1 game. Later on that day we thought we had no more games. But suddenly they said we had to play 1 more. Everyone was feeling tired. We walked over to the field suddenly we had lots of energy and could play again. After the game we were all very exhausted. Aunty maata was cooking our barbecue because everyone was really hungry, i wasn’t hungry i was so thirsty. When everyone finished eating we went to get free ice-cream. finishing our ice-cream we packed up ready to go home.
