Cross Country

This is my story on how cross country went for me on the day. Hope you enjoy

It was an overcast day the people in my age group sat on the hot blazing concrete the clouds had a grey setting to it as it was my age group turn the people got up they had a feeling of butterflies in their stomach their hearts were racing really fast. Everyone around me was trying to get a better spot but as soon as I looked at Mr burt he made the noise that had a gun shot noise tone to it as soon as everyone heard it we were off.

Everyone sprinting to the first checkpoint of the race people were running for their lives like it was a earthquake. As I looked around people's goal were just to come in the top 3 positions. But

as soon as we got to the 2nd checkpoint I was determined to come 2nd or 3rd as we got to the teachers I had a burning sensation in my lungs and heart as we got to the next bunch of teachers I was really tired but I was determined to come in the top 10. As soon as the sun went away it started to get easier to run another lap but when it came back the blazing hot sun was making me sweat like if I was on a desert island.

When we got on to our 2nd lap it was getting harder and harder to run. Every part in my body felt like there were going to give up. My stomach had a big burning sensation and my heart had a burning sensation like it was going to burn me alive but I was starting to feel like I was going to stop but as soon as I got halfway I felt better about myself. When the teachers kept motivating us everyone kept up with their pace and kept going.

As Soon as I saw the finish line I felt like I just ran a triathlon when I jogged to the finish line I still had the burning sensation in my heart. As I walked to the water stand I was so thirsty that I grab the water dumped it over my head and I was proud that I had finished the race and that was how my day at the cross country went.
